Invasive carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation. Invasive carcinoma exhibiting morphological features similar to those of neuroendocrine tumors of the GI tract.

Neuroendocrine markers (like chromogranin) are expressed in a variable proportion of tumor cells. Histologically alveolar pattern of round solid nests of spindle-shaped carcinoma cells. Occasionally the tumor cells are polarized around pseudolumina.
