A silicone granuloma is, by definition, a tissue reaction elicited by silicone. In the breast silicone granuloma arises from a leakage of prosthesis. Foreign body giant cells with asteroid bodies are present near lacunar spaces filled with glassy material. Focal non-specific inflammatory infiltration is common. |
