Case 4
Case 4
52 M. Skin biopsy from stricturated anal region.

  Epithelial hyperplasia
Lichenoid reaction

Discussion: Anal stricturation and pain had disturbed the patient for months. Dermatological treatments were ineffective. Later, plentiful surgical biopsy samples were taken (the third biopsy session) and diagnosis of verrucous carcinoma was finally made. Malignancy of anal, perineal or vulval regions are not easily found in small biopsy samples. Should a pathologist mention possibility of malignancy and recommend repeated biopsies if patient history gives any suggestion of malignancy?
