Female mongrel puppy, imported form Estonia, severe bloody diarrhoea, elevated liver enzymes. Necropsy samples from liver.

Tyzzer’s disease |

Multifocal coagulative necrosis with filamentous bacteria, Clostridium piliforme (formerely Bacillus piliforme) within hepatocytes at the margin of necrotic areas, oriented parallel or crisscross pattern within hepatocytes. The dog had also canine distemper. |
